Noname is correct about ECC. If you require ECC it's better to choose Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G, and in most markets, the price is very similar to 4600G (their specs are basically the same, but the PRO version has a few extra enterprise features, including the official ECC support. The only downside to PRO is that it's harder to find and may have different (shorter?) warranties because it's not a part aimed at end consumers but at system integrators and OEMs.

Best for NAS June 16, 2022 at 07:00 PM
I chose AMD Ryzen 5 4600 CPU for my Home NAS because of two features: ECC memory support and larger L1 cache CPU per core.

Is 4600g support ECC for real? ECC is not supported (official page). ECC modules may work in standart mode as U-dimms without problems but in that case ECC features are off. Do you enable ECC and it work in your system? What motherboard you using in your PC?
