Macbooks would be very compelling products, if only Apple didn't charge $200 for 8GB of RAM and another $200 for 256GB SSD, or put 8GB of RAM in a $1800 Macbook Pro.

If you need portability don't get a laptop with the Ryzen CPU unless it has 10+ hours of battery life, but if portability isn't a concern get a desktop. These Ryzen cpus are capable only when plugged in, or else the Mac is much better, but the full potential of the Ryzen CPU beats the M2. So it depends, I was looking at the G14 and the Macbook, and both are really good, Mac for portability, G14 for its compatibility, and I guess performance goes to the G14 as well, but only when plugged in. Basically, both are capable, but the one with an AMD CPU won't last as long since Windows just gets slower because of its updates over time, The Mac would be good even after 5 years, and the battery life is amazing for a Mac too.

Now if only brands actually decide to put in the 7940hs on slim laptops πŸ™ƒ. I haven't even seen that many 6800u laptops.
