I have the S23 Ultra and Poco F5, difference to day to day task are slim with battery life better on the Poco. S23U better on games, although it's not a night and day difference. If you found yourself in the used market for phones with this chips, what I would pay more is the AV1 feature of the 8 gen 2.

I believe the 7 Plus Gen 2 is superior. I own both an S23 Plus with 8 Plus Gen 2, as well as a Poco F5 with 7 Plus Gen 2. Trust me, in practical use, the 7 Plus Gen 2 performs a million times better. It provides a more reliable battery and a better overall experience, with no perceivable effects on performance.

I can confirm that the S23 Plus is impressive on paper, but the reality of playing Genshin Impact was mediocre. I experienced a lot of stuttering and inconsistent frame rates. I ended up returning it and acquiring the Poco X6 Pro. I played Genshin Impact on the maximum settings at 60 fps without any stuttering or overheating - the phone maintained a cool temperature throughout.
